Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is an annual campaign run by The National Breast Cancer Foundation in order to increase awareness of the disease. During this month especially, please take the time to make yourself aware of how to detect this disease in its early stages. Start by learning how to conduct proper self-examinations and remember to book a mammogram if you are over the age of 40 or have a history of Breast Cancer in your family. Did you know that "1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime"1? Don't be a statistic, be a survivor! For more information and to find out how to plan for early detection please visit http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/ 1 and talk to your healthcare provider if you are ever concerned.
